When Pawkala Animal Welfare received the call, we didn’t see owners giving up their pets — we saw a family making an impossible choice out of love.

Pumba came into our care alongside his canine siblings and was taken straight to the vet for his vaccinations, desexing, and full health checks. Through all the changes, he remained the sweet, loving boy his family had always known.

Leaving him behind was one of the hardest things his family had ever done, but they handed him over with love, tears, and hope for a better future.

Today, Pumba’s story has the ending everyone hoped for.

From uncertainty to safety, from heartbreak to happiness, Pumba has found his forever home and is now living the life he deserves.

His journey is a reminder that sometimes asking for help is the most loving thing a person can do, and that every dog deserves a second chance.
